Once again, a number of books from a couple of different sources: Malfi was interviewed on Mark Justice’s Pod of Horror podcast. The Pop-Up books come courtesy of the brilliant blog Judge a Book by its Cover. Mr. Peanut was recommended by Stephen King in Entertainment Weekly and The New Dead and Jaclyn were on EW’s best-selling horror list. Installing Linux came in a round-about way, when I was trying to figure out what THIS was all about. Stuffed Animals was one of Melissa Milgrom’s research/source books for Still Life. My son has fallen in love with Hellboy, and so as I was looking for some Hellboy graphic novels at the library, I came across the Oddest Job anthology, and how could I pass up a collection that tells HB stories written by such greats as Joe R. Lansdale, John Skipp & Cody Goodfellow, Brian Keene, Tad Williams, and Gary A. Braunbeck, to name just a few? Finally, did you know that the great Brad Bird animated film The Iron Giant was based on a children’s book? Neither did I, at least not until I introduced the film to my son. And guess what, our local library had a copy!
